Learn more about FIGO and SOGC, the organisations dedicated to advancing women’s health through education, research, advocacy and global collaboration, and championing equitable access to quality care worldwide.
FIGO is the world’s largest alliance of national obstetricians and gynaecologists (OBGYNs) societies. We harness our collective expertise to close critical gaps in women’s healthcare, strengthen health systems, and ensure every woman has access to lifesaving medical services. Together, we shape a safer, healthier future for all.
FIGO unites women’s health professionals in more than 140 countries. Our geographic reach and professional networks are crucial to share knowledge, foster global collaboration and reduce disparities in healthcare.
Our work is built on four pillars: education, research implementation, advocacy, and capacity strengthening.
We train clinicians and share evidence-based guidance. We turn research into action. We advocate globally – and locally – for women’s rights and health. And we build resilient systems that reach those most in need.
With the strength of our diverse global community, we are determined to bring about real change and make a transformative impact on the lives of women and girls worldwide
SOGC is one of Canada’s foremost national specialty organizations, dedicated to advancing women’s health through education, clinical excellence, and collaborative professional practice. As the national voice for women’s health, their vision focuses on promoting equitable, high-quality health care for women, enhancing clinical practice through education and research, and advocating for women’s health rights both nationally and internationally.
The SOGC’s mission is to support our members in delivering high-quality, inclusive obstetric and gynaecological care driven by scientific innovation and evidence-based decision-making. Guided by a vision in which all women and gender-diverse individuals have the right to equitable, high-quality sexual and reproductive health care, the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) advances care through clinical guidance, education, advocacy, and global collaboration.
Through partnerships across Canada and internationally, the Society advocates for equitable access to care and works to improve sexual and reproductive health outcomes, particularly for underserved and vulnerable populations
